Travel back to the territorial era as we introduce Walking Through History on the Linear Trail — a new project that brings Manhattan’s past to life through ten engaging historical markers, a student‑created interactive webpage from the Chapman Center for Rural Studies, and a brand‑new Coloring Book designed for history lovers of all ages.

This program invites you to meet the settlers, families, and community builders who shaped the city we call home. You’ll see how their experiences echo through Manhattan today and how local students, researchers, and volunteers have worked together to preserve these stories for future generations.
